National Public Lands Day

TeraFlex was proud to participate in this year’s National Public Lands Day.  We were out at 5 Mile Pass cleaning up debris and had a great time.  For more info on National Public Lands Day, visit the official site at www.publiclandsday.org. Here’s the lowdown of what happened…

In Utah there were 2 events south of the Salt Lake valley. One was held up American Fork Canyon building a new fence at the entrance to the Forest Lake trail to block an illegal hill climb area. Also, some maintenance to the trail and fences along Pole Line Pass was done.

The second event was held out at 5 Mile Pass. Generally this area needs lots of cleanup. This year wasn’t as bad in the main parking lot as in years past. However most of the cleanup was focused on the remains of a single wide trailer. Last year the frame was still there, along with most of the trailer. This year all that was left was the metal skins and a lot of particle wood. Volunteers with trailers made several trips to take the trailer remains to a large dumpster at the parking lot. In just a few hours of work done by the volunteers a huge difference was made in the area.
