Trail Run American Fork Canyon

Team TeraFlex Trail Run – American Fork Canyon

Where: American Fork Canyon
When: July 18, 2009

Plan to meet at the shop, 5241 Commerce Dr. (300 W), at 8:00 am.  If it’s more convenient for you you can also catch up with us at the Tibble Fork Parking Lot at 8:45 am. We plan to depart the parking lot at 9:00 am.

We will be heading up one of the best local canyons in the Wasatch Front. This canyon is one of the most popular canyons for city dwellers, but offers some very scenic and enjoyable family friendly four wheeling.

During the day we will be running three different trails:  Forest Lake, Mineral Basin, and Mary Ellen Gulch.  Trails in the canyon are rated from about 3 to 6 on the 10 rating scale.  Depending on the size of the group we may split up between the trails.

We plan on being out of the canyon by 3:00 or 4:00 pm, so bring a lunch to eat at the top of the trail.

For more info about running the trail just give us a call – 801-713-3314.  See you there!

Team TeraFlex Trail Run 5 Mile Pass

Where: Team TeraFlex Trail Run  -5 Mile Pass (5)
Date: March/21/2009

Greetings Wheeler Dudes

It is with great joy that I announce the cancellation of the Snow Run.  My sources tell me that the trail we were going to run is now a dirt road.  Who wants to drive down a dirt road?  We will instead be heading out to Five Mile Pass for some actual rocks and obstacles.  Oh yea, spring is here!

There are two short jeep trails in the Five Mile area.  We have taken stock Cherokees through Rattlesnake with no problem.  The upper section, Constrictor, is close to an 8 or 9 on the 10 scale.  It really requires a good lift and lockers.  It can be done without the aforementioned, but total disregard for equipment would be necessary.  Bottom line, the event is rated G, don’t be scared–you can do it.  Some will run both trails, some only one, but all can watch.  It is a short walk up constrictor to some nice part snapping ledges.
We will meet at the shop, (5241 so 300 w )  at 7:45 and leave at 8 am.  That will put us at the 4 way stop in Lehi at about 8:30.  We will then head out to the trail, about half a mile past the Faust Cutoff.  The trail should only take us until about 2pm to complete, depending on carnage.  Look forward to seeing you there !

TeraFlex Trail Run San Rafael Trail

Where: Team TeraFlex Trail Run  -San Rafael Swell (5)
Date: June/26-27/2009

Its tough to compete with our last trail run, The Hole in the Rock trail, but this one is right up there.  The area is up Price way, then highway 10 down to Ferron.  The area reminds me of the Grand Canyon.  We have all driven past this area zillions of times, usually on our way to Powell or Moab.  Its time to stop and smell the roses.  The trail is rated about a 5 or 6 on the 10 scale.  No lockers required, but always helpful.  4 door JK’s should really be lifted so as not to scrape the living ^&$@ out of the bottom of your jeep. Long wheel base rigs should have slider protection and a lift.  There will be no real chance of body damage, so its ok to bring shiny rigs on the trail.

We will be camping at a campground Friday night.  It has rest rooms but that’s about it.  The plan is to leave trailers, campers, RVs etc. at the campground, make a loop, and pick them up on the way back.  We will be running The Devils Race Track, and Fix it Pass.  The group has to be limited to 14 people so we may need to break into two groups if necessary.

We plan on leaving Teraflex Plus @ 5:00pm on the 26TH.  That should put us in the campground by 8:30 or so.  It will be a full day on the trail–you may choose to stay another night, or head home if you need to get back.  Feel free to call for more information if you have questions. We would love to see you on the trail!

Thanks  Wood out
